On our drive from the Naboisha Conservancy to Masai Mara, we came across a male lion from the ‘Double Crossing’ pride. It was lying peacefully, sleeping under a bush, taking shelter from the mid-day sun. Every now and then it would open one eye to ward off the flies, acknowledged our presence and close it right back. His body lay perfectly still in the shadow of the bush with the other eye buried deep in the grass. There was soft light falling on his face which afforded me the perfect opportunity to capture his ‘glowing eye’. Technical Specs: Canon EOS 5D Mark III, 200-400mm F4L lens, 1/640 sec at f5.6; ISO 500, bean bag. Post Procession: Minor levels and saturation adjustment, slight sharpening and minor vignetting.
